JNPT handles record container traffic in April 2016

Highest traffic handled by Jawaharlal Nehru Port Container Terminal in April 2016

Jawaharlal Nehru Port Container Terminal (JNPCT), which is one of the three terminals of JN Port and is operated by the port authority, has handled 133,195 TEUs in April 2016, which is the highest traffic handled in a month since inception of the terminal. On month to month comparison, April 2016 throughput has registered a growth of 35% in comparison to April 2015. Further, this is also a 12% growth over the average monthly cargo handling of the year 2015-16. The earlier record handling was 132155 TEUs handled during August 2015.
